Dear friends today we are going to learn about articles. There are three articles in English 1) A 2) An 3) The They are divided into two groups A & an - Indefinite article The - Definite article Let's learn more about these articles. Rules:- 1) एकवचनी सामान्य नामापूवी- a / an उपपद वापरतात. सामान्य नामाचा पहिला वण॔ जर व्यंजन असेल तर a हे उपपद येते. eg. A boy, a book, an egg, an ant 2) सामान्य नामाच्या सुरूवातीच्या व्यंजनाचा उच्चार स्वराप्रमाणे होत असेल तर an हे article(उपपद) वापरतात. eg. An honest, an ant, an egg, an hour etc. 3) सामान्य नामाच्या सुरूवातीच्या स्वराचा उच्चार व्यंजनाप्रमाणे होत असेल तर a हे article(उपपद) वापरतात. eg. A uniform, a university, a European 4) संख्यावाचक शब्दांच्या पूवी 'a' article वापरतात. eg. A hundred, a thousand, a million 5) मोजता न येणारे नाम असल्यास article वापरता येत नाही. eg. Water, tea, Sugar, petrol, diesel etc. परंतु अशा नामांबरोबर त्याचे परिमाण असेल तेव्हा a/an येते. eg. A glass of water, a cup of tea 6) काही शब्दसमूहासोबत सुद्धा a हे उपपद वापरतात. eg. a few, a little, alot of, a number of The या उपपदाचा उपयोग- 1) एकवचनी सामान्य नाम जर त्या विशिष्ट जातीबददल माहिती सांगत असेल तर the हे उपपद वापरतात. eg. The cow is a useful animal. 2) जगातील एकुलतया एक गोष्टीचा उल्लेख करण्यासाठी the या उपपदाचा उपयोग करतात. eg. The Sun, the Moon, the earth, the sky 3) सव॔ दिशांच्यापूवी देखील the वापरतात. eg. The East, the West, the North, the South 4) धम॔ ग्रंथ, महाकाव्ये, प्रसिद्ध पुस्तके व व्त॔मानपत्रे यांच्या नावाच्या आधी the वापरतात. READ MORE eg. He is the tallest boy. 6) नदया, समुद्र, महासागर, बेटा, पर्वतरांगा आणि वण॔नातमक प्रदेश यांच्यापूवी the उपपद वापरतात. eg. The Himalaya, The Ganga, The red sea.etc 7) क्रमवाचक संख्या विशेषणापूवी the वापरतात. eg. The first, the fifth, the last 8) संगीतवाद्यांच्या आधी the वापरतात. eg. The Flute, the tabla, the guitar, the golden harp etc.
